Award in Therapeutic Approaches to Grief Support

The programme aims to equip students with the necessary tools to support people they are working with during their grief process. The programme will cover the stage theory, cultural and spiritual perspectives on death and grief, phases of grief, reactions to grief, types of grief, grieving special types of losses and grief focused interventions. The programme will also explore factors that influence the affect of grief on the family members, secondary losses and children’s perceptions of death & influences. The last module consists of a comprehensive experiential workshops, exploring different techniques and modalities used in potential groups of individuals who have either lost a child, a partner or a cherished one.  The programme consists of both theoretical part, reflective and various experiential practices.

This award is accredited at MQF/EQF Level 7 and consists of 5 ECTS.
